Any dedicated Style-ish listener would know about the swap, the weekly segment in which our hosts bring you their current fashion, beauty, lifestyle and cultural hyperfixations. Each week, our three hosts share recommendations, swapping in the item they are obsessed with right now. Often this means a fashion buy or beauty pick, but every now and then it also includes a recent tv show, book or cultural experience.
So today, we’re bringing you every cultural Swap of 2026. From true crime tv shows, and deeply moving books to unmissable rom-coms and trending playlists, this list is truly an amalgamation of different tastes and very different algorithms. We’ll be updating this list weekly with new swaps as they come through, so don’t forget to come back to this page regularly to find new recommendations. “I should probably preface that I pretty much only exclusively watch true crime TV shows. So I thought I would do some TV series recs, in case you are looking for something and you love true crime. We recently finished The Beast in Me on Netflix, which is kind of like a psychological thriller. Really interesting series. Brittany Snow is in it.
“It's called Bodies of Light, I will say it is on the heavier side. It’s a really, really good book. So if you're looking for something that's a bit deep, bit heavy, set in Melbourne originally, then it bounces around a few other places. I don't want to spoil it, but it's on the must-read list for me.”
“I have a really wholesome swap as well. On Friday night, I spent the night with my mum. It was quite spontaneous. She sent me a text message and was like, I've got a spare ticket to this symphony orchestra. It's like a candlelit symphony orchestra. It was so cute. So I saw the Fleetwood Mac Symphony Orchestra, went for an hour, 6 to 7 p.m. We went to dinner after. It was such a beautiful night.”
“I’m very interested in true crime usually and that’s normally my genre of choice, however I have been into the medical drama of late and I’m very into The Pitt at the moment. It’s on HBO Max. It’s a medical drama set in a Pittsburgh emergency department, but the difference is the structure of it. It goes hour by hour, so what you’re seeing unfold is within an hour.”
“Off Campus playlist is so good. I'm going to say it's better than The Summer I Turned Pretty. I think, because they had Taylor, we thought it was great. The budget was not held back on this playlist. We have got everything from like, Suki Waterhouse to like G Flip to Elton John to ACDC.”
“Mine is the most random one I think I've ever brought to this podcast, and I've brought a few random ones. This one is Ellie the Elephant. I got sucked down a TikTok hole of Ellie the Elephant. She is the mascot of the New York Liberty in the WNBA, so the Women's NBA in the US.”
“I watched Office Romance on Netflix over the weekend. J.Lo and Brett Goldstein. It was actually written by him. And it's a really nice, fun, lighthearted rom-com. It's just heartwarming. The thing about me is that I love love. And the only thing I love more than love is a rom-com. Voicemails For Isabelle is a love letter to the power of love. The very complex intersection of grief and how love and grief kind of symbiotically co-exist, and opening yourself up to love and just a yearning man. We always love a man who is in yearning. And it is so fucking funny and so fucking sad.”
“I have a police drama to recommend to you. It is called Blue Lights. It's on SBS. It is an Irish police drama. It's got three seasons, and they're all on SBS. I love this show. It's really, really good. There's a love story in there. There's a lot of drama that goes on. It's a very good show. So if you're into, like, crime-adjacent, like police dramas, UK crime dramas, this would be right up your alley.”
