There are few experiences as universal as wondering what to make for dinner. As an inevitable part of ‘adulting,’ deciding what’s for dinner each night is a task that sits perpetually on everyone’s to-do lists. For most people, weeknight meals are all about simplicity and efficiency, which is completely fair enough. But if the regular rotation of usual suspects is getting a little bit tired, you've come to the right place.
Here at Style-ish, we’ve been looking for a little extra mid-week meal inspiration and have been sourcing ideas on the internet. Across socials, there are a myriad of unique creators who make feeding yourself feel fun again, not to mention offer great tips and tricks about cooking along the way. So, scroll on to see who we are following for weeknight meal inspiration and who knows, it might just reignite your love of cooking, too!
Anika’s Recommendation: Style-ish host Anika has been leaning into that kind of nourishment-first cooking, especially Natalia Rudin, whose brothy, simple meals feel made for this in-between season. “She makes so many beautiful meals that are all about nourishment,” Anika says, adding that it’s her go-to when she wants something grounding but not complicated.
Naima’s Recommendation: Head of Social, Naima, is drawn to Two People Cooking, a couple who share their Friday night dinners in short, calming videos. “They just seem like the nicest people in the world,” she says. “It’s basically like being invited into their Friday night.”
Mads’ Recommendations: For something equally unfussy but reliably good, Style-ish host Mads keeps returning to Jem Lester, who she discovered after she catered a friend’s event. “I lowkey fell in love with her then,” she says. She’s also into Kayla Cooks, whose recipes she describes as “stupid easy and I need that because I am a terrible cook”.
Cait’s Recommendations: Senior Producer Cait takes a slightly more elevated route, splitting her time between Ellie’s Table, formerly of Hope Street Radio, now sharing cookbook and recipe content in her enviable feed, and Alex Weymouth, known for her “bougie to basic bites”. As Cait puts it, “It’s just really good, easy meal inspiration that still feels a bit special.”
Zara’s Recommendation: For Zara, inspiration is coming from slightly different corners of the internet. The Shameless Media Co-founder credits Ottolenghi’s recipes as a dinner-party staple, after noticing almost half the dishes at a recent one came straight from the book. “I couldn’t not mention him,” she says. “It’s basically taken over group dinners.”
Jo’s Recommendations: Style-ish host Jo’s household cooking is mostly handled by her husband, with Andy Cooks and Deana Cannatelli making regular appearances in their rotation. “I don’t really watch cooking content,” she says. “But those two always come up.”
Georgi’s Recommendation: For Partnerships Executive Georgi, it’s less about formal recipes and more about personality-driven content, namely Stanley Tucci, whose cooking videos she describes as “immediately watchable”.
Gil’s Recommendation: Senior Producer Gil has been following It’s Me Kate Vee, a vegan creator known for budget-friendly meals, cosy knitting content, and a very cute cat. “She makes really simple, affordable food feel fun,” she says. “And I stay for the cat, honestly.”
